The four games

Four quick, fun games decide the city champions — no experience needed and nothing to bring. All props, lanes, timers and referees are at the venue. Tap a picture to see it bigger.

Balloon Cup Race — how to play
Game 1

Balloon Cup Race

4 players per race5-foot lane

Blow up your balloon with your mouth, then let the air out towards your plastic cup to push it down your lane. Keep blowing and releasing until the cup crosses the finish line.

🏆 First cup fully over the finish line wins.

Keep in mind: Hands never touch the cup. Balloon air only. Disturbing another player’s cup means disqualification.

Nut & Bolt Tower Challenge — how to play
Game 2

Nut & Bolt Tower Challenge

1 player at a time2 minutes max

Five nuts sit on a chopstick. Hold the chopstick in one hand and a writing pad in the other, slide the nuts off one at a time and stack them into a standing tower of five.

🏆 Fastest complete tower wins.

Keep in mind: One nut at a time and no touching the nuts with your hands. If the tower falls before the referee confirms it, rebuild it.

Ping Pong Bucket Catch — how to play
Game 3

Ping Pong Bucket Catch

1 player at a time1 minute

Wear a cap with a small bucket on top. From behind a line 5 feet from the wall, throw a ping pong ball at the wall and catch the rebound in the bucket on your head.

🏆 Most catches in one minute wins.

Keep in mind: No hands to help the catch, and stay behind the throwing line. Only clean catches count.

Ping Pong Balance Walk — how to play
Game 4

Ping Pong Balance Walk

4 players per race20-foot lane

Balance a ping pong ball on a writing pad and walk it down your lane, then drop it into the bucket at the finish line.

🏆 First ball into the bucket wins.

Keep in mind: Walk — no running. Hands never touch the ball. If it falls, go back to the start line and begin again.

How winners are decided: the games are played in knockout heats — heat winners go through to the next round until the Final. Men’s and women’s winners are declared separately. The referee’s count and timing are final. Zonal and National rounds have surprise games, revealed just before those stages.
